Gift for Parents !!

drw22

What can be a better gift for your parents than your own drawing !!!

3rd May was the anniversary of my parents so I decided to gift them something special instead of regular gifts from store, so I decided to gift them a painting of my own. Thanks to google from where I got idea of this painting. I remember during my childhood I always made cards for them but as I grew up due to excess pressure of studies I could not make it for them any more. So this year when I have little time in hand after my job I decided to draw once again. To make it more special I framed it so that it can be with them forever.

You can also gift your dear ones something made out of your own hands as that involves your feelings and touch much more than expensive or ready made gifts from stores.

Go ahead and bring smile on lips of your dear ones.

P.S the signature named “munai” in the picture is actually mine as my nickname is munai 🙂

This picture was clicked by me long back but I didnt post it before because I was waiting for DIWALI (the festival of lights)…
I know many of my co-bloggers does not know what is Diwali, so just want to tell you that Diwali is another type of festival which is also known as festival of lights as entire India gets beautified with lights and decorations and light of firecrackers.. This festival makes India look like a princess with a glittering crown..

So I wish all my friends and family members who are reading this blog “A VERY VERY HAPPY DIWALI”…

P.S… I simply love all types of candles because everytime I look at a candle it shows me “how we can burn ourselves just to bring light in the life of others”..

P.P.S This is my 100th post.. Thank you all for the inspiration and support..

Goddess of POWER – Indian culture

durgaa

India is always busy with festivals and celebrations. The entire year India celebrates some festival or the other throughout each corner of the country. But one of the most famous and awaited festival is Durga Puja, which is mainly celebrated in the state of West Bengal.

The above picture is of Goddess Durga who is worshiped as the Goddess of POWER by Hindus. In the ancient history of India it is believed that when all Gods failed to finish the evil power named Mahishasur (demon) then it was Goddess Durga who killed him. Basically Durga puja is the festival of worshiping WOMEN POWER. You all can see that she is depicted with 10 hands, it is so because it is said that all Gods gave their most powerful weapon to Durga to finish the evil and bring peace, prosperity all over. Durga sits on a lion who is considered to be her vehicle rather its better to say the lion carries her and helps her to fight the evil.

During the month of September- October usually Durga puja takes place when it is believed that Durga comes to her father’s home with her four kids ( LAKSHMI -daughter, SARASWATI- daughter, Ganesh- son, Kartik- son) for vacation. During this phase for 5 days people across India wears new clothes, indulge themselves in yummy foods , pandal hopping and lots more fun.

I being an Indian wanted to share with you all a very little yet colourful portion of Indian culture and custom.. Hope you all liked reading..
