Today while cooking I felt I should share the reason for richness of Indian food i.e its spices.. Traders have been invading India since the 18th century because of the spices. Through the silk route many a times spices were exchanged between India and neighbouring countries. A wide variety of spices are available here, mainly due to the temperature such rich variety is available. In the above picture you can see some of the famous Indian spices namely cardamom, cinnamon, clove etc.There are also spices like turmeric, cumin, mustard seeds, nutmeg and many more. These spices have their individual taste and aroma. Above all not only these adds to the flavour of the foods but these have high medicinal values. Starting from curing common cold, intestinal problems to solution of HIV, they are also rich source magnesium, iron, vitamin C, fibre etc. Many of them acts as antiseptic too in case of burns and cuts.
